Los Organos – Mancora. Peru’s best sandy beaches stretch for several kilometers in the sunniest region of the northern Peruvian coast. The town of Los Organos is located halfway between Talara and Tumbes. You can only get here by road as it has the Panamericana Hwy passing right thru its middle. Due to its location, it is super easy to catch a bus from Lima, Tumbes, Piura, or Guayaquil (Ecuador.)

By air
Hands down, this is the fastest way to get to Los Organos - Mancora. The flight takes about 2 hours from Lima to either Piura, Talara or Tumbes’ Airports. From there you must secure land transportation by choosing a car rental, private taxi, shared mini-van, or interprovincial bus (listed from most to least expensive options.) The road trip is about 45 minutes from the Talara Airport, 3 hours from Piura Airport and 2 hours from Tumbes Airport.
The most reliable airline and the one we recommend is LAN Airlines. (http://www.lan.com/es_pe/sitio_personas/index.html) The road trip from Piura may be a tad longer than Tumbes however Piura’s Airport is a much larger airport than Tumbes and offers several daily flights to/from Lima thus making it more dependable. You might chose to fly into Tumbes on your way here and fly out of Piura, especially if you have a connecting flight in Lima for your return home.

By bus (Lima/other city to Los Organos - Mancora)
Have to be honest, it is a long journey (982.9 km from Lima or about 16 hours), however choosing the right bus company makes all the difference in the world! We have tried and recommend Oltursa (http://www.oltursa.pe) as it departs Lima from a safe neighborhood, late in the afternoon, the buses are air-conditioned, you are served snacks, dinner and breakfast, you get to watch a few movies and they even offer Wi-Fi! They also have a strong safety record (a big plus in our book!) and good customer service. Because the trip is non-stop, you arrive in Los Organos mid-morning the next day, refreshed and ready to relax!
If you are planning to get here from another city north of Lima – it may be more beneficial to take a bus to Piura or Tumbes and then take a service into Los Organos - Mancora. If you are planning to get here from another city south of Lima, the Andes or the Rain Forest areas you must first get to Lima and then follow the recommended option.
